Design Elements and Their Meanings
The coat of arms features symbols of Fiji’s culture, history, and resources. The Cross of St. George and golden lion reflect British colonial influence, with the lion holding a cacao pod to represent agriculture. Sugarcane, coconut, and bananas in the shield’s quadrants highlight key crops, while the dove symbolizes peace, referencing King Cakobau's era. The crest shows a traditional takia canoe, and two Fijian warrior brothers support the shield—one with a spear, the other with a totokia club. The motto reads: Fear God and honour the King.
